Paffrath is the middle child of seven children. Her father, Herman Paffrath was also an actor. Her family would stage plays and newscasts at family gatherings to entertain her as she grew as a child. When she turned three years old, older, her mother took her to ballet, tap, and jazz classes.  Paffrath was a Journalism student at the Missouri School of Journalism.    German figure skater Katarina Witt was a former skater. Witt is regarded as one of the greatest female singles figure skating champions, having been twice an Olympic champion.
